The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, which arrived last year, are the largest Jeeps ever made and have already become bigger. These models also launched a new turbocharged I-6 engine to replace the 5.7- and 6.4-liter V-8s in the shorter variants. There will likely be a Grand Wagoneer and 4xe plug-in hybrid Wagoneer based on the same six-cylinder engine. The completely electric version will also be available by 2025.

The electrified Grand Wagoneer was previewed during a flashy “EV Day” event for parent corporation Stellantis in 2021. Given the anticipated premium cost, it makes it reasonable that Jeep would only offer the EV in Grand Wagoneer configuration and not the “standard,” less expensive Wagoneer.

The Grand Wagoneer EV may resemble gas vehicles, but it has unique details like what looks to be a closed-off grille and sharper bumper style. These stylistic modifications will help the electric vehicle stand out from its gas counterparts, but they may also be a sign that the Grand Wagoneer EV isn’t a Grand Wagoneer at all.

It’s unlikely that Jeep would modify the Ram-based frame and truck-like underpinnings to accommodate a lot of batteries and a completely different motor; instead, likely, the STLA Frame EV architecture that will support the future Ram 1500 EV pickup will be used in this application.

Jeep could likely mount the top hat of the Grand Wagoneer to the electrified frame to preserve it mostly intact, or it may make more significant changes—possibly in a sportier direction. Details like battery capacity, motor output, and so on are still a bit hazy, but with the Grand Wagoneer’s size, there’s plenty of room for hundreds of batteries.

While new engine options help conserve gas, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4xe will save even more with hybrid power. The 4xe will reportedly arrive shortly, probably in 2024. The Grand Wagoneer 4xe could be equipped with the same Hurricane inline-six engine, a massive battery package, and electric motors.

People may plug in a PHEV or plug-in hybrid vehicle, but the regenerative braking will also charge the batteries. The 2.0-liter inline-four engine and electric motor combined to produce 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque when used in the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.

It offers 56 MPGe and a 25-mile electric driving range on a single charge. While this is a wonderful start, the Grand Wagoneer 4xe will want more power to compensate for the added weight. It could feature additional electric motors and a bigger battery pack.

According to rumors, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer EV may be released by 2025. That sounds excessively quick, although the Ram 1500 EV could share parts. These electric cars might be powered by the STLA Frame EV architecture, which is designed for huge vehicles.

The electric Grand Wagoneer would pair well with the 2024 Ram 1500 EV, which might have a range of up to 500 miles and standard all-wheel drive. It is said to be capable of pulling at least 11,000 pounds. The Ram 1500 EV price might start around $45,000; however, official pricing and specifications haven’t been disclosed.

The price of the Grand Wagoneer in 2022 is $87,995. The price of an electrified model can go up by several thousand. We’ll have to wait a little while to find out more, but the Grand Wagoneer is now becoming more fuel-efficient. Even the newest gas engines are somewhat helpful. In September, there may be updates to the lineup.
