JD Power 2022 Tech Experience List Led by Genesis, Hyundai and Kia

Published on PRNewswire at 8:29 PM PDT on August 29, 2022 — SEOUL, South Korea Hyundai Motor Group is happy to share the news that all three of its automobile brands, Genesis, Hyundai Motor, and Kia, have been named as leaders in the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Tech Experience Index (TXI) StudySM for the innovative technology incorporated into their respective product lines.

For the second year, consumers have voted Genesis the best luxury brand. Genesis won handily, with just an Innovation Index score of 643, more than 50 points more than the runner-up. Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer at Genesis Motor North America, stated, “Genesis is happy to bring the newest innovations to our consumers with our award-winning array of cars.” As the authors put it, “We are delighted that the findings of the research highlight our dedication to introducing technology focused on enhancing the customers’ driving experience.”

For the third year, Hyundai Motor came out on top among mass market brands, with Kia following closely after. According to Ricky Lao, Hyundai Motor North America’s director of product planning, “delivering sophisticated technological solutions to satisfy our customers’ expectations is at the core of our product development & dealer training programmes.” “Making these cutting-edge options accessible to a large audience by making them simple to use is essential. To further guarantee that our customers have positive interactions with the automobiles they purchase from us, we also offer comprehensive educational resources at our dealerships.”

The U.S. TXI Study assessed 35 automotive technologies across four categories: comfort, emerging automation, energy & sustainability, & infotainment and connection, based on the answers of 84,165 owners questioned after 90 days of possessing new cars from the 2022 model year. The research used a point system (out of 1,000) to rank the efficiency with which various automakers introduce new technology to consumers.

Kia America’s Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, Steve Center, is overjoyed by the company’s recent success in the J.D. Power VDS & APEAL studies. “Being recognised among the most constant innovation cements Kia’s standing as a worldwide leader in the industry,” Center said. “With such customers’ satisfaction across a wide range of sectors, from design and reliability to innovation and beyond, we will not resting on the laurels & will continue to move ahead in all developmental areas.”

The final score was based on a weighted average of two categories, “Market Depth” (the extent to which cutting-edge technologies are integrated throughout a company’s product lineup) and “Excellence in Execution” (how highly customers rate the quality of such integration).

The results show that all three Hyundai Motor Group brands are committed to technical innovation, dependability, and consumer happiness.

Meanwhile, the fingerprint sensor is the most troublesome piece of technology in the study, according to J.D. Power’s US TXI Study. This year, the function was included in the research for the first time and received the lowest overall satisfaction rating. Moreover, it received worse marks than the lowest-rated technological element of the previous two years, which was inside gesture controls.

The research also reveals that new owners are less likely to give up on high-tech features after testing them if dealers take the time to explain these capabilities to them. Again, this exemplifies how crucial dealers are to the widespread adoption of cutting-edge automotive technology.
